The river access is the one real plus, and there are plenty of other places nearby with that too. The campsite was noisy, with loud, garish entertainment going on very late. The pool water was dirty, and the tents were packed too close together, seemingly breaking fire regulations. There’s just one sanitary block for the whole site, the showers always had a queue, and there was no way to leave early if you needed to. The toilets had no seats, which is horrible. We’ve seen that at one other campsite in France, apparently as a cost-saving or easy-clean measure. Most guests were French, with only three pitches occupied by people of other nationalities, and we felt unwelcome.

We thought it might be more peaceful, but the lively atmosphere made it a very sociable place to spend a holiday. The trees give shade to nearly all the pitches, and the river is close by, great for cooling off. A lovely, cozy campsite, especially for children who like spending time with other kids.

The owners were so kind and generous when our awning got damaged, and the shower block was clean. We also loved the shady pitches and the campsite’s quiet, green setting. From here, it’s easy for even a nervous cyclist to explore attractive villages and towns on the traffic-free Dolce Via and Ardèche off-road flat cycle routes. The river swimming area and its amazing frog chorus were other highlights on our journey south. We hope to come back. Merci Beaucoup 🙂
