I chose to pay at the hotel after my stay, but the hotel charged my card anyway. I cancelled the booking, and now, more than a month later, I still haven't heard back about reversing the charge. Shame. The owner's reply is misleading and untrue. The Folklore hotel charged my card, so it owes me the refund, not Expedia. My credit card company and Expedia have both verified this, and I have proof. Expedia spoke with the hotel clerk, who said she couldn't issue a refund and gave them a number for the manager. Expedia tried calling the manager/owner, but the number they were given wasn't valid. Shameful and fraudulent.

We needed a light lunch before checking into our AirBnB and had seen the Google reviews. It was such a welcoming place. The lunch menu was lovely, with Poke bowls and wine to go with them. A relaxing spot on a pretty street, and well located.

We stayed in the Tour, a beautifully furnished room with a lovely bathroom. The bed and bedding were so good, especially the pillows, the best we've ever had in a hotel. Breakfast was very nice, and the service was professional and friendly. The boutique hotel is right in the middle of Sancerre village, just off the main square. We couldn't fault our stay and highly recommend it.

We'd happily recommend this small boutique hotel to anyone spending a few days in the region. It's right in the town centre, the rooms are beautiful, and breakfast was amazing.

Even after checking out following our six-night stay in October, the owner wouldn't let the manager or staff refund us. We're still waiting for the money, and it feels like we've been taken advantage of. The hotel and staff were wonderful otherwise, but this lack of a refund feels unusual and dishonest. The overcharging has been going on since May. We cancelled our June booking in good time for a full refund because one of us needed surgery, then rebooked for October. The October rates on the hotel's website were much lower than the June rates, but the owner charged my second payment at the June rate. They acknowledged that I had overpaid by 670 euros, which they've owed me since May/June, but multiple emails didn't get the refund.
