The staff are so charming and attentive, and having direct access from the room makes this a great place for a medically supervised spa treatment. The welcome was very pleasant too. The daily clouds of gnats are the one real nuisance. As soon as you open the window in hot weather, they come in, even with the light off. A mosquito net would help a lot. Still, everything else works perfectly for a spa stay, and I’ll definitely come back.

The rooms are spacious, with a large bathroom, decent dishes, and parking, but €2000 for a three-week spa treatment is expensive. Not every room has a balcony, and that isn’t mentioned when booking. A clothesline and some balcony chairs would also be handy. The rubbish situation needs sorting out. Residents can’t get into the garbage room, so the cleaner is supposed to take the bags from the rooms. Despite asking several times, mine was emptied only twice in three weeks. To keep odors, flies, and gnats out of the room, I ended up leaving the bags on the balcony. That felt neither hygienic nor elegant.

The room was far too hot for a decent night’s sleep, with no air conditioning or fan. Breakfast was just as disappointing. On Sunday morning, July 20th, there were no cups or plates on the tables or at the buffet, and the only bread was what came in the individual basket. There was nobody around to help the three couples, so we got things ourselves, as did the two other tables. We didn’t see staff until 10:00 AM, when we were told to leave. For €13, I expected at least a basic level of service. We told reception about it when leaving, and the receptionist asked the dining room staff to come speak with us, but they never bothered. We were very, very disappointed. After a breakfast like that and such a bad night, I can’t recommend this establishment.

Extremely disappointed. We’d just arrived and found out children under 6 can’t use the pool. I’d called beforehand, and a gentleman told me, “Madam, the pool is heated to 32/33 degrees Celsius.” The website is completely unreliable. Our vacation was ruined. Thanks a lot, Villa Thermae!
