Naâd Hotel

We booked what was advertised as a family room through a third-party booking site at a great price, but were given a standard room instead. We thought we'd found a deal with extra space, including two beds and a pull-out couch, so we were really disappointed. I suspect we listed only two people when we booked, and the hotel made its own decision to rebook us. I don't say that lightly. In five years of using this very popular platform, I've never had this kind of problem. The manager took no responsibility, even after we showed the reservation, and told us to take it up with booking.com. It was a non-cancellable booking, so what were we supposed to do, leave, book somewhere else and fight it out? There was no compensation offered, or even free coffee or breakfast. My wife had to make a bit of a scene to get coffee. They relented the second morning, but by then we didn't even feel like having a croissant. Sad, really. Booking platforms and hotels are partners, both earn from the arrangement, and both should share responsibility. The room itself was okay, just small. The bed was nice and the blankets were good. Nothing stood out, but nothing was really bad either, and the location was excellent. This kind of attitude is why people are starting to prefer places rented directly by private owners.
