We loved the views and how well cared for the houses are. They give you plenty of privacy, but it’s easy to mix with others too, our kids made friends and spent lots of time roaming around. Sarlat is nearby, and there’s plenty to do within a 20-minute drive. The local food was delicious. We had such a good stay at Le Hameau that we’re thinking of coming back next year.
Dominique was so welcoming, and his enthusiasm for these traditional-style houses really comes through. They were built with traditional materials and methods, yet blend so naturally into the landscape that you’d think they’d been there for ages, even though they were all built within the past 30 years. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed, in a really peaceful setting. It’s a lovely spot to relax or explore the beautiful Périgord region from. We had a fantastic time and would happily stay again.
I first came here with my family as a kid, then returned with my boyfriend after my mom sent us the website. It turned out to be a great choice. The weather wasn’t the best, but we always found something fun to do. I loved the Slow Tourism idea, and you can see the care put into the garden, animals, and hiking trail. There was lots of useful information, and Dominique’s folder is worth reading for his great recommendations. We really enjoyed the whirlpool, too, and were grateful to the gardener, who was always ready to help or answer questions. We hope to come back one day and explore more of the Dordogne.
Dominique was so kind and helpful, and the house had everything we needed. It was also much larger than it looked in the pictures. The hamlet itself is beautiful and quiet. One of the best holidays we’ve had!
