1001 Nights is a beautiful apartment, decorated with real care. Staying there felt like stepping out of time, right in the heart of Sarlat's medieval city. Highly recommend it!

The only small downside was that some things, including the TV, air conditioner, and toilet, felt a bit dated. Still, nothing too serious. We had a lovely week in the 1001 Nights suite. Maryse welcomed us warmly and gave us helpful information. The apartment is lovely and sits in the lively medieval center, yet it's peaceful inside.
We were really disappointed. For the price, the quality just isn't there. The apartment has no soundproofing, and the ancient air conditioner is unbelievably noisy. The sink was blocked when we arrived, the dishwasher leaks, and the whole place shakes when the upstairs guest does laundry. At night, airing it out means dealing with a strong damp smell, while the smell of toast can get unbearable and wake you up, mixed with tobacco and stale air from the alley. We tried again and again to get the TV working, but it still doesn't work. We won't be returning to La Boetie. Avoid it. The one good thing is the excellent location, just steps from the historic center and its shops.
We booked the "Mille & un Nuits" apartment for a romantic weekend to unwind after two years without a holiday, since we're shopkeepers. The apartment was lovely, quiet, clean, and right in central Sarlat. Thanks for the small welcome gift. We were greeted warmly, though not by Maryse. The person who welcomed us seemed not to know the apartment very well. At first glance, it seemed perfect for a couple's weekend. The kitchen was well equipped, but a slightly bigger frying pan would have helped. The bathroom and bedroom were both lovely and clean, and we really appreciated all the cushions. It's rare to find more than two. The bedding, though, seemed worn out. We could feel the springs in our backs, and didn't sleep well. The sauna wasn't set up properly, so we only used it once because we didn't want to mess anything up. The spa smelled musty. We're used to using them regularly, and they usually smell of cleaning products such as chlorine. We didn't really enjoy this one, using it only three times in two days and never staying the full 20 minutes. The apartment door doesn't really function as a door, since noise from the other tenants comes through. The humidifier was noisy at night, so we switched it off the second night, although there were no instructions. I shared these comments with the property manager and the owner. They won't be hearing them here.
The view from Toits et Moi is superb, and the apartment is magnificent. We loved the splendid decor and the perfect location. There are loads of activities to do there, with something for everyone in every season. I'd recommend it for a holiday or a weekend away.
