Le Mas de Castel

Karine and Roby, the owners, are thoughtful, warm and welcoming. The heated pool was my idea of heaven: a nice size, with no extra fuss. You can just get in, settle down and enjoy Dordogne from the water or the loungers. No loud upbeat music or posing with drinks on floating mats, which suited me perfectly. The rooms are tastefully furnished without feeling overdone, so the atmosphere is relaxing. It's peaceful and works especially well for couples, though the families with young children who were there also fit in easily. My partner and I were really happy with our choice.

We spent eight nights here, and by the time we left, Roby felt like a friend. He greeted us at breakfast, made us feel at home, answered our questions and had great suggestions for things to see and do. Karine handled the booking communication brilliantly and made sure our needs were met during the stay. The pool was warm even on a cold day, and the hotel looks out over a lovely long, sloping lawn with fruit trees. The internet was secure and worked really well. It's about an eight-minute drive from town, which kept us away from the tourist traffic in Sarlat. Roby and Karine were both so friendly and helpful. We'd highly recommend the hotel to anyone visiting the area. Thank you both for a wonderful stay.

We had a brilliant week here. Karine and Robie were great hosts, always happy to help if we needed anything. It's a lovely boutique hotel in beautiful countryside, just minutes from Sarlat. The rooms were spacious and spotless.

The room was spotless, and they even provide a towel for your dog if you bring one. The hotel is attractive and you can see the care put into the small details. It's in a quiet rural spot, still under a ten-minute drive from the medieval town of Sarlat and handy for exploring the area's attractions. We'd certainly return and recommend it to others.
