The main problem was getting into the apartment, and Alex was almost impossible to reach. I messaged through B.com the week before and got no reply; B.com didn't respond to my messages either. When I finally called on the morning we were due to arrive, Alex initially told me we weren't staying there. He eventually found our details and said the cleaner would not finish until after 6pm, even though check-in was at 5pm. His suggestion was to leave our cases and walk into Sarlat, which wasn't what we wanted after a long drive. I went to check out the studio at 5pm after receiving the access information, but the faulty main door lock trapped me in the hallway. The locking system clearly needed maintenance. The cleaner arrived and got in through an empty neighbouring apartment, which we were told to use during our stay. Alex wasn't available by phone. After talking with the very helpful cleaner, we agreed to use that apartment for direct access, but it needed cleaning too, so we couldn't unload until after 6.30pm. The access problems continued for other guests. The next evening, two people were stuck outside with no instructions and no way to reach Alex. One was speaking to B.com, who were cancelling and refunding the booking and looking for alternative accommodation. The apartment also didn't look like the site photos: there were no plants, and a picture was missing, leaving screws in the wall. There was no iron, just one beer glass, and the kitchen bin lid had no cover. We booked back in February as part of a 3-week road trip. Looking back, I should have checked the more recent reviews, since they also mentioned access and Alex's communication. Hopefully people who booked after me see this in time to cancel for a refund and book somewhere else. This really isn't “The Place to Relax.”
