Le Mas des Lavandes

We had booked several weeks in advance, but when we arrived after 3:00 PM nobody was there. We called the owner, who said he had no booking, got very agitated and hung up. He texted that he’d come around 4:00 PM. When we arrived then, he was rude, didn’t listen, and complained that we were much too early and had only booked that day. It turned out he had mixed up our reservation. The property looked neglected, and the pool wasn’t filled. Absolutely not recommended!

The owner was welcoming and friendly, and gave us helpful advice. The rooms are clean and functional, and the location is beautiful, surrounded by lavender fields. Our only small complaint was that the pool wasn’t accessible. We’d gladly come back.

I booked at Mas des Lavandes and didn’t expect to end up with conditions like a municipal campsite in Sault. There was no hot water in the room, which was extremely unpleasant, and in October it was very cold inside. At over €100 a night, those spartan conditions are outrageous. The room also had no toilet paper or shampoo. Breakfast was just a piece of dry cake, burnt underneath, and slices of bread with butter. The garden and swimming pool were overgrown, neglected and very poorly maintained. Terrible value for money. Avoid at all costs.

We stayed one night at Mas des Lavandes while in the area for a wedding near Sault. The room was lovely and the bed comfortable. The surroundings are so peaceful, with lavender fields all around. We wouldn’t have come to this region if it weren’t for the wedding.
