The hotel feels very dated and needs a complete refurbishment. There’s just one tiny ironing board for the whole place, usually kept behind reception and often missing. The bar closes when the barman gets bored and wants to go home. He refused to serve a group of around 25 Chinese tourists, behaving as if he couldn’t see them asking for drinks. It was an astonishing display of racism. Reception staff are pleasant enough, and the hotel is cheap, for good reason. Cheese storage is exemplary.

The rooms are spacious and renovated, the Wi-Fi is good, and the price is good too. But my stay was very negative: the shower had no hot water, and when I went to check out at 5 a.m., nobody was there and the exit was locked.

The gardens are amazing, the place is clean, and the people were wonderful. The maintenance and cleaning staff were friendly and good. My problem was the reception: Layla spoke to visitors in a very nervous way, and I don’t know why. She said she was the manager and that the owner was in Switzerland if I wanted to speak with him. I only needed basic things fixed. The water in villa 35 wasn’t hot enough for such a cold area, the garden door was broken, and the sofa was disgusting, as shown in the picture. Layla said the sofa would be replaced next week, which I hope happens, but said the broken door wouldn’t be changed. Five stars except for the nervous reception.

A nice place for families, and all the Arab people we met were so kind and good, from Kuwait. There’s a place for everyone to have coffee and chat. The location is far from Paris, though, and you need a car to get to supermarkets.

We spent New Year there and had a great time. The accommodation, food and entertainment were all great, and breakfast was especially nice, with a full English. I’d recommend this hotel.
