Hotel Kyriad Saumur

The air-conditioning worked properly during the first heatwave, and it made sleeping possible. But our standard double room, for our overnight stay on 29th June, was so cramped that one side of the bed was against the wall. There was almost no room to get past the bed on the other side either. Whoever slept against the wall had to climb over the other person to reach the tiny bathroom or get out to the corridor. To me, that room was only suitable for one person. Not being able to leave the inner side of the bed easily or safely seems contrary to health and safety rules for room occupancy and safe exit. The location is convenient, but central and noisy. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The enclosed car park is very small and tricky to get in and out of.

We’d definitely return if we visit beautiful Saumur again. The bed was clean and comfortable, and breakfast had a great range of choices. We were made to feel welcome by staff who were really helpful. A great stay!

Breakfast was good, though the room got chaotic, with too many people, too few seats and waits for refills. Guests choose their own portions and may arrive at the times they specified, so the hotel can’t fully control that. Even so, we had a wonderful weekend and really enjoyed our stay. The location was ideal, and our room was clean with everything we needed. The staff were friendly and very accommodating, especially Maxime, who went out of his way to make our stay perfect. The staff made the stay for us. Everyone was so lovely and helpful. We were a big group, and the rooms were clean and nice, with a good location too. We were really happy here and would definitely recommend it.
