Check-in had a couple of problems: our room wasn’t ready, and the key card didn’t work at all. The night receptionist was lovely and did her best to sort things out.

For the price, this place is hard to beat. There’s a free fountain for still and sparkling water, games for kids in the lobby, and plenty of food choices nearby. We had a good room, enough parking, air conditioning, and a pool. Ideal for a road trip with children when you need somewhere to sleep. We’d definitely stay again if we’re in the area.

The staff were nice enough, but so many things weren’t working. The kettle was broken, the pool door wouldn’t open, and the pool itself had green algae along the sides. Our window wouldn’t open either, and huge spotlights shone straight at it all day and night. The cleaning was poor too: the cleaner woke us just after 8 despite our do not disturb sign. Breakfast felt like a scam. We stayed four days, and half the buffet was out of stock the whole time. Even when we asked for scrambled eggs and bacon to be replenished, nothing happened. The coffee machines worked only about half the time. The room was below standard, and the bathroom floor sloped the wrong way, so water flooded both the bathroom and the room. It feels like the hotel had its best days 15 years ago and nobody bothers fixing things. Even the lights, TV, and phone didn’t work, and the lobby smelled musty while the hallways smelled of sewage. Doors and closets were cracked, with silver duct tape on the wooden base. The shower door was only half there and had holes that let water out onto the floor. The walls and doors were so thin we heard every little noise from neighboring guests. With all those rooms, there seemed to be only one working elevator.

We were with a tour group and only needed a night here before continuing to Switzerland. The hotel felt dated and poorly cared for: the lobby smelled musty, the hallways smelled of sewage, and the lights, TV, and phone didn’t work. There are a few other hotels in the same area, but I can’t say whether they’re better or worse. I wouldn’t come back here or recommend it, and the stay has made me second guess the rest of the same brand. I’ll probably avoid them altogether.
