Chateau Notre Dame de Sausses

Richard welcomed us to our rooms, which were huge, almost like flats. He said they were the smallest ones, even though they felt enormous. The place was extremely clean and pretty when we arrived. It’s rustic rather than modern, but this is the kind of place people should experience once in their lives. In a very remote town, this underrated little B&B feels like a hidden gem. Richard made us an amazing traditional three-course meal all by himself, since the food store was so far away. The next morning he made croissants and other French pastries by hand, which was amazing. Gorgeous place, and I’d really recommend it at this price.

I came back to La Guerite after a wonderful stay last year, and the meal I’ve just had was so good I had to write another review. Richard is an amiable, helpful, exemplary host, and his cooking is amazing. La Guerite is a really beautiful place to stay, and the food at the table d’hôte is exceptional. I’d recommend it to everyone.

Our family room was up in the roof, with barely any headroom, a small double bed, a tiny bathroom, and two small windows. Maybe the other rooms are better?

Richard, the owner, is a great chef as well as a fantastic host. A great place to stay.
