After many years as guests, we nearly decided this would be our last visit. The place had gone downhill over the previous three years, especially last year, and we arrived in August with low expectations. But Laurent is now managing things, and the change is striking. The new team is friendly, capable, and provides excellent service. Everything was clean and running smoothly, with equipment looked after and the pools cleaned daily. There's still work to do, since Laurent and his team couldn't fix everything in one year. The houses need some repairs, particularly the kitchens, and the fridges are much too small, though everything was very clean. The team is clearly committed and focused, and we're now happy to return next year and see them again. The location is great, with plenty to do in the region and places like Mont Aigoual and the Camargue not far away.

The outdoor pool was bitterly cold, and the gîtes felt cheaply built with poor materials. There wasn't really enough there to cook a meal. Still, Sauve is beautiful, and this was the cheapest nearby gîte with a pool and availability. The sunshine helped make it all okay.

When we arrived, the staff were friendly, but told us straight away that the outdoor pool was closed because of algae. Since the season was ending, they said it wasn't worth cleaning. The indoor pool was dirty too, with lots of debris on the bottom, and the showers and sauna didn't seem very hygienic. The receptionist even suggested putting a towel under ourselves to avoid germs. The gym equipment was broken and unusable, apart from the plugged-in elliptical trainer. The little house we rented didn't seem to have been cleaned recently, with dust under the beds and wardrobes and cobwebs in every corner. The mattresses need replacing, we had back pain. With better hygiene and a bit of freshening up, the place could be quite pleasant.
