La Parenthèse

We always stop here on the way between the Netherlands and the French Alps, since it's right about halfway, including on the trip home. The hosts, Julie and Yannick, are probably the nicest we've met, and their homemade dinners with excellent wines are so good we never end up using the kitchen. Breakfast is first class too, with fresh orange juice, eggs from the hen house, and a great spread of fruit, homemade jams, cheese, and more. There's a big garden with a pool, playground, hen house, and lots of fruit trees. Inside, the rooms are spacious, with nice beds and furniture and a small built-in bathroom. The common area also has plenty of French children's books and toys. Thanks again for such a great stay!

It's only a few minutes from the main road, yet the place is quiet. The hosts made us feel very welcome, and the B&B was cosy, comfortable, and very clean, with lovely decor. Breakfast was a particular treat, with fresh eggs and homemade spreads. I'd strongly recommend it. “Parenthèse” means “break” in French, and the place certainly lives up to its name.

Our child got sick while we were on the way, and the hosts kindly did our laundry and arranged a visit to a local doctor. They were friendly and always ready to help. We had planned just one night as a stop before heading farther south, but enjoyed it enough to stay an extra night. We might stop there again on the way back.

La Parenthèse was just right for four relaxing days, and we didn't lack for anything. We especially enjoyed the quiet, the huge garden, and the spacious dining room with its fireplace. The rooms were lovingly furnished and the whole place was clean, with a tasteful atmosphere. Breakfast was excellent, and the hosts were friendly. We can wholeheartedly recommend it.
