Ibis Budget Sélestat

The staff were very welcoming and helpful, and pointed us to an excellent restaurant across the road for dinner. The bed was very comfortable, while breakfast was just okay. The room was small, and the bathroom wasn't up to the standard we'd expect. The shower was smaller than one in a cross channel ferry cabin, and my wife couldn't reach the shower head because it was so high. Budget stays vary a lot, but I'd pay extra for the STYLES product.

If Budget is meant to provide a bed for the night, then it does the job. It's clean and practical for an overnight stay, and breakfast was nice. I wouldn't choose it for a vacation.

We spent three nights here, and the location, breakfast, and staff were all perfectly satisfactory for a budget hotel. The bedding, though, made sleeping miserable. It was disposable, noisy and rustly, stuck to my skin, and got hot. In summer, even with the air conditioning, we slept very poorly. It also creates unnecessary waste and is often made from unsustainable materials. I wish this had been mentioned at booking. I wouldn't come back because of it.

The staff were nice, and breakfast was perfectly good. The accommodation itself is basic but good, and I'd be happy to return and recommend the hotel. My only complaint was the shower head in my room. It had been replaced with the wrong type or angle, so at normal pressure the water went right over my head. Turning the pressure way down helped me get a half-decent shower, but then not much water reached me.
