The best meal we've had in France, and the people who run the restaurant were so kind and glad to chat with us. Our French was very limited, but they met us halfway in broken English and French, and even had a French to English food dictionary to help us with the menu. The room was clean and lovely, and the whole place was well cared for. We'd set out on a cycling trip through France and Germany expecting to camp. When we reached Seltz, we couldn't find an open campsite. Two kind French cyclists helped us discover they were all closed for the season, then took us around to find somewhere else. That's how we ended up at Chambres d'Hotels Chez Marie, cold, hungry, and almost without a place to sleep. They took us in right away, and we couldn't have been more grateful. I only wish we'd had time to stay another night and treat those two cyclists to another of their wonderful meals. Thanks, Alsace, we owe you one.

Quiet, clean and friendly. We stayed one night and had breakfast. I'd happily come back.
