The restaurant was outstanding. The menu was limited, and some dishes were expensive, but the food was terrific and the service attentive without being intrusive. They had no trouble catering for my son's gluten allergy. This Logis is in quiet, charming Semblançay, not far from the motorway, and made an ideal midpoint stop on our drive from Vieux Boucau Les Bains to Calais. The bedroom was large and comfortable, with an en suite bathroom and a very powerful shower.

The dressing on the sea bream carpaccio starter and the sauces with the main course were so good I’d give them 12/10. The meal itself was 10/10, one of the best dinners I’ve had in over 100 countries, and a really memorable evening. Big thanks to Alice and for her memorable wine list. The rooms across the street were perfect too. I read that the Duke of Windsor and Mrs Simpson stayed here in May 1937. I’ve told all my friends who regularly visit France, and I’ll definitely be back as soon as possible.

The food was so exceptional that we deliberately booked another stay on our way home. The rooms were great, and Madam was incredibly kind and helpful. They welcomed our dogs too. There’s a beautiful woodland walk just 2 miles away. What a find, a perfect visit. Thank you, highly recommended.

We really enjoyed the gastronomic experience at dinner, and the breakfast buffet was lovely too. The staff were all lovely, and the hotel sits in a really authentic, nice little village. It was a perfect overnight stop on a long road trip. The next day we picked up French bread and fillings from the bakery around the corner for lunch later on. We’d definitely return.
