Hotel Restaurant Du Chemin De Fer

We stopped in one afternoon with a child while waiting for our train. Never again! The customers were completely drunk, shouting sadistic jokes and using vulgar language, with extra swearing. The boss seemed to think that kind of atmosphere was perfectly normal.

The service was below par, especially when it came to hygiene, and there were no prices displayed. The owner tried to fool me, and managed it because I was distracted. I wouldn't recommend this place. It might have been acceptable if the bill hadn't been such a rip-off: €48 for two couscous dishes, two plastic bottled waters, and two freshly squeezed orange juices, although I'd only ordered one.

We bought couscous to take home, but neither the meat nor the sauce had any taste. The portions were a rip-off for two people: we had to share one tiny merguez, and the chicken thigh was about the size of a drumstick. When we complained, they showed no interest and were neither welcoming nor willing to listen. First and last time for us. Avoid it completely.

It was a nice place to wait for a train, and probably one of the friendliest bars in a station. We arrived too late to eat at the restaurant, but the bar was welcoming and the bartender really attentive. It can get a little noisy, though not excessively for a bar. Even on a rainy day it felt bright inside, and it was very clean, perhaps recently renovated.
