The rooms were lovely, and we all slept really well. We also enjoyed the clean, well-kept leisure facilities. Swimming there was especially quiet and relaxing. The staff were so friendly, and breakfast was good on both mornings. We had dinner in the restaurant on our first night and thought the food was exceptional. It was a peaceful, beautiful chateau, and we'd definitely come back after our lovely two-night stay.

The architecture is amazing and the place itself is lovely, but we had a really bad day there. We arrived late and were given a room that was extremely hot, even with the heater switched off. We were sweating while trying to bathe. In the morning, we realized the staff already knew about the room's condition. The only thing they offered was to cancel our dinner reservation. We'd booked a non-refundable stay through Booking for our anniversary. One of us got sick, and Booking agreed to cancel, but the hotel refused when we asked. My partner was ill, and the heat kept them from sleeping. After driving five hours there in bad conditions, it felt dangerous to face another five-hour drive back in the same circumstances.

Even with staff shortages because of Covid-19, David and his team looked after everything we needed with our two kids. They even bought a new cot for our one-year-old. The service, food, and beautiful setting all impressed us. A massive thank you to David and his team.

A quiet getaway would be ideal here. It's a peaceful spot tucked away in rural France.

The food was wonderful, and the people looking after guests gave great service. With the historic castle, pastoral views, and bubbling river around you, it's such a lovely place to unwind.
