Mare E Monti Bungalow

The sea view from the terraces is fantastic, and the host gave us several good suggestions for stops on the drive to Porto Polo, as well as nearby places and restaurants. We spent more than a week here and really liked it. The small huts are scattered through a lush garden and serve as the rooms. They’re clean and fully equipped, though only some have a full kitchen. The bathrooms are on the small side.

Breakfast was outstanding, and all the staff were welcoming and ready to help. Jean-Louis has put a lot of good taste into the garden and every bungalow. Ours was spacious, well laid out and air conditioned, with a lovely private veranda facing the sea. It was a great place to finish the evening listening to the waves with a book. The location of Mari & Monti is very convenient, right in the heart of Porto Pollo, two minutes from the beach and five from the supermarket and restaurants. There’s generous private parking inside. Jean Louis is both the owner and a fantastic host, making sure guests have the comfort they need during their stay at Mare&Monti. My girlfriend and I are already looking forward to coming back.

The excellent breakfast and friendly staff helped make our stay pleasant. The wooden bungalows are sweet, and the location is perfect, close to the beach. The interior was a bit basic and the double bed felt quite small, but the balcony and the beach nearby more than made up for it.

The friendly reception staff speak good English and share plenty of information about things to do nearby, though not much about the hotel grounds themselves. The semi-detached houses sit in a pleasant green garden, just across the road from a nice, calm beach. Keep in mind that you share the terrace with neighbors. The wifi wasn’t very stable, there’s no pool, and as I understand it, some houses have kitchens while others don’t.
