Nice hotel, though the shower could be awkward if you're over 1.80 meters tall. The showerhead is fixed at around that height.

The room was charming, the surroundings pleasant, and there was private parking. It seemed set up for a nice stay at Clos des Sureaux, but the welcome felt cold and curt. As we went along, we found hair, litter, dirty floors, and dirty coffee cups. Cleanliness clearly wasn't a priority, which really spoiled the trip, especially at this time of year. For the price, we also expected a more filling breakfast with more choice than fresh cream and rhubarb jam. It’s a shame, since the place could feel like a little slice of paradise if the cleaning and welcome improved.

The hotel is decent and inexpensive, with comfortable beds and a good location in the area. But after arriving late from a long off-season trip with children, we had to ask for toilet paper, and the managers hadn't even turned on the heating in the room. That was really poor. The restaurant and hotel have a pleasant setting, but the food wasn't worth the trip, even with the promising wood-fired oven. None of us was satisfied with the three main courses and desserts. It was practically inedible, especially at those rather exorbitant prices.

The breakfasts were plentiful and delicious, and the rooms were elegant and clean. The in-room coffee maker wasn't working properly, so a little more attention to detail would help. The buildings have the area's typical steep roofs and tall chimneys, and the property is beautiful, right in the heart of the Loire Valley. My only complaint is that the owner could be a bit more accommodating with guests. It wouldn't hurt.
