Black Bass Hotel

We lost valuables and cash from our room while we were at the spa on our wedding day. We had expected basic security, professionalism, and some empathy at a five-star hotel, but the months of dealing with the case and insurance were miserable. The hotel never apologized and showed no empathy. It seemed more focused on proving its innocence than helping us, and we felt uncomfortable and unheard, as if we were somehow at fault. They still insist the incident did not happen. Our belongings disappeared at the property, while the hotel appears to have somehow demonstrated otherwise, perhaps by manipulating the system. In the end, it's our word against theirs, and we feel helpless. The gifts and limited editions that were taken meant a lot to us and can't be replaced. The loss has also left us with emotional distress and anxiety. We waited a long time to write this, hoping to reach an agreement, but after all these months we're left with nothing and bad memories. This review is a small form of consolation for what we lost and the distress we went through. Security seemed inadequate: anyone can get into the parking area, and the elevators don't need a key card, so people can reach the hotel and upper floors. That's surprising and unacceptable for a hotel in this category. The hotel's response ruined our wedding day, our whole holiday, and many of the months afterward. It was a complete failure of service, responsibility, and basic decency, far from what you'd expect from a so-called luxury “boutique” hotel. Burglars.

The staff were friendly and accommodating throughout our engagement trip, and the Black Bass Hotel became a really special place for us. My fiancée and I visited in Annecy this August, and we'll always remember getting engaged by the lake. We hope to return someday. Our suite was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully designed. There was champagne waiting when we arrived, and the pool was just right for cooling off on hot afternoons. The location gave us lovely mountain views and easy access to the lake. We ate at the restaurant only on our last night, though we had cocktails and snacks during the stay. The food was excellent, with much of the menu locally sourced, and prices seemed fair for the quality. The only small drawback was the e-bike hire at 20 euro for two hours. You'll need longer if you want to explore the villages around the lake. We’ve already recommended the place to friends and family. Thank you :)

The team was great, and we'd love to come back. The rooms and beds are modern and comfortable, the restaurant serves excellent breakfast and dinner, and the hotel is in a perfect spot overlooking the lake.

The pool area is a relaxing place to cool off, with a view of the lake. The hotel itself is nicely located, and the rooms are clean and pleasant, with space for three or four people. The restaurant was the letdown: the dishes looked good but weren't very nourishing, and dinner had no vegetarian options or salads.
