Fasthotel Annecy

The parking area was spacious and clean, with an access gate. Everything was perfect, and the staff were friendly. I’d love to come back.

This was a terrible experience, and I would not recommend staying here. We made a joke as we arrived in the parking lot that it looked like the kind of place where you’d find a dead person under the bed, with blood and hair in the shower. Some of that turned out to be true: there were black hairs in our bed and in the shower. The room was really small, with no sound insulation, so we could hear everything. The bed was very thin and hard, absolutely uncomfortable, and the pillows felt like they were filled with little balls. The air in the room triggered an asthma attack for my son. To make things worse, a fire alarm went off in some rooms at 9:30 PM. No staff came to check that everything was safe. We waited outside in our jackets for half an hour in 2°C weather, with our three-year-old son asleep. Absolutely not funny. This is a terrible way to save money.

The staff were very friendly, and the gated parking was handy since guests can come and go with a code. Breakfast was good by French standards, with bread, cheese, honey and similar things, though no meat. For 38€, the room wasn’t too expensive, but it didn’t feel cheap either. It’s old, with thin walls, a basic mattress, and a tiny bathroom. The room itself is small, but okay for one night. Fine for a night on the road, though I wouldn’t choose it for a vacation.

The rooms are small but laid out really well, and they were clean and comfortable. It’s very close to Annecy center, about 7 minutes by car. I’d recommend it for short business trips. A slightly bigger bathroom would’ve made it five stars.
