The wifi was strong, the beds comfortable, and the showers had good pressure. That's the practical side. The hotel itself is an ageing Diva, all old wooden decor and fake marble painting. I didn't see an elevator, and the squeaky stairs make it impossible to come and go quietly. I wasn't even sure there was anyone around at night besides maybe the local ghosts. There is a little entertainment room with french pool and a dice game. We played there with cheap bottles of wine from the grocery store across the street, very handy, though opening them was a challenge. With no staff around after 8 or so, we couldn't get into the kitchen. A nice Kebab down the street kept us from going hungry, but we still had no cork screw. So we went to the "Brasserie du Commerce" and explained the problem over a glass of wine. David, the local hero behind the bar, helped us out and stayed a little past opening hours. That left us at 1am in a lonely, empty, almost abandonned hotel, playing dice and getting drunk on cheap but good wine, soaking up an atmosphere straight out of the next award winning French horror movie. Imagine the child of formerly wealthy hotel owners, keeping up appearances while killing guests who'd never be seen again. The whole village could play that part too, slowly dying among its beautiful medieval buildings and former glory. The next day our car wouldn't start because the battery was dead. In less than 5min, a good french Samaritan pulled up and shared his battery power with us. I'd recommend staying here, just don't make it your vacation destination, unless you're planning to make that horror movie.

It's in a good location and isn't very expensive, but the building is old and the rooms need renovation.

A beautiful hotel.

It feels like stepping into another era when you enter this hotel. The people you hear talking are probably your neighbors, so don't bother looking around for them. A proper old-fashioned 4-star hotel! The bed is passable, and the bathroom feels like something from grandma's house, with sheets and a blanket and a bidet. There's just one power outlet, by the entrance. In short, €50.00 a night to stay in a museum! 😉
