VVF Villages Sorges-en-Périgord

For a place costing over €1200, why should we put up with so many inconveniences? The comforts you'd expect at home should theoretically be there when you rent a residence. Instead, the accommodation was old, poorly maintained, and dirty, which made the stay uncomfortable. There was a musty smell when we arrived, and the cupboards and dishes all needed cleaning. Some dishes were moldy, and the casserole dish was in such a dreadful state it could scare even the garbage collectors. The terrace was filthy with green moss, and an old fir tree hanging over it meant we had to clean the table and chairs every day. The windows were opaque because they hadn't been cleaned. With an €80 cleaning fee, this is outrageous.

The accommodation was a little dated, especially the shower room, but it was clean when we arrived and had everything we needed. We spent four nights at the VVF holiday village in Sorges and enjoyed our time there. The staff were friendly and quick to respond. My daughter loved Sarah's thoughtful touches, and the board games at reception. For young children, the play area is simple but does the job, and there's also a bouncy castle. We'd happily come back.

The setting is ideal, with plenty of walks and places to visit, and we had a pleasant week at the VVF holiday village in Sorges. Sarah, the manager, was lovely and the welcome was warm. Each evening, food trucks by the village entrance were a nice extra. The rooms are dated, as other reviews have said, and the shower wasn't very clean. There was definitely a musty smell. The adult activities could be broader, though outside providers offer plenty of options, including archery, massage, and hiking. We only tried the massage and I highly recommend it. At the pool, the water is heated, but there aren't enough loungers or shaded spots. I highly recommend the place.

We enjoyed our stay and would happily come back. The holiday village is quiet, clean, and friendly, surrounded by nature and far from everyday stress. The accommodation was clean but shabby, and the hollow mattresses made the bedding uncomfortable. The pool stays open for extended hours, and there are activities for children as well as evening entertainment.
