Fabienne made our family feel at home from the moment we arrived. She’d even gotten up early to bake cakes, which went perfectly with the already delicious breakfast. We were in the area for our son’s wedding, and had a wonderful stay at Hotel Du Puy D'alon. Thank you again!

The owner goes out of her way to help guests, including sharing sightseeing tips. The rooms are spotless, the beds comfortable, and they even have air conditioning. It’s a simple place in a handy location, with a small pool for cooling off and the Dordogne river nearby too. Highly recommend for a holiday.

Breakfast was a treat, with fresh French pastries Fabienne had made that morning, plus juice, coffee and more. Our room was tidy and spotless, and comfortably cool after a long travel day. She greeted us at the door after we phoned ahead with our arrival time, got us checked in, and introduced us to Lol, the sweetest dog. Fabienne was so kind, helpful and full of useful information. It was such a charming hotel that our first night spoiled us for the rest of the trip. I’d give Hotel Du Puy D'alon ten stars if I could.

I especially loved the rhubarb and orange jam at the old-fashioned breakfast, along with the homemade jam and croissant. Fabienne, the owner and manager, offers good value for money, with quality, cleanliness, a welcoming presence and simplicity. The lovely region and its little villages are a bonus.

The staff were very welcoming, and there’s a pizza place on the next street. A good spot for a night while travelling.
