We watched kingfishers and ducklings by the river, and even spotted the sweetest kitty cats. The garden was so peaceful, and the BBQ evenings were lovely too. Jeni and Glen made everything easy and welcoming, especially with our little one along. Five days flew by, and there was so much more to enjoy. Between the bike races and those beautiful river views, our first family holiday at le moulin leveque was unforgettable. Already thinking about coming back 💙

The setting is the best part, tucked into a tree-lined valley with the river running through, so it’s great for relaxing or fishing. We’ve stayed a few times now, first on our own in the second gite, and this year with friends in the biggest one. It’s well equipped, though the decor is utilitarian, and it has everything you might need. In the evenings, we all wander over to the barn for drinks and good banter. The gites are centrally placed for local amenities. If you have time, the wine shop in town is lovely, and so are the people. Jonny and Lynn will look after you if you visit their holiday homes. Every stay has been amazing.

It’d be a great place to write, sketch, or paint, with enough to keep the kids busy too, and Normandy’s historic sites are within reach. There’s also the quirky experience of a French truck stop diner nearby. We paddled the Vere and got close to all sorts of unsuspecting wildlife. One night we watched a tropical storm safely from the barn, and even saw the International Space Station pass overhead. Le Moulin has a really relaxed feel, set in an incredible rural valley by the river. I hope we can return soon.
