Château de Grunstein

We stayed in the Victorine Suite in December and slept so well. It was quiet, with good shutters, comfortable bedding, and a lovely bathroom. The room was spacious and clean, and the heating kept it at a comfortable temperature despite the château setting. Everything had been renovated with warmth in mind. The château is also well placed for visiting Obernai, Sélestat, Colmar, Riquewihr, Strasbourg, Ribeauvillé, Kaysersberg, and Eguisheim. Breakfast was varied and carefully made by the owners' daughter, with a little change each day. A wonderful stay, and excellent value for money. I recommend it wholeheartedly. Don't change a thing! :-)

Breakfast was top-notch, with regional and homemade products, and the whole place was spotlessly clean. The rooms are stylishly furnished, the hostess warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere feels like a dream. One of the most beautiful places we've stayed. The couple running the castle really do take their role as hosts seriously. Booking directly through grunstein.fr was easy, and the cancellation policy is generous. The old moated castle has been renovated with care, keeping its character while adding modern comfort. The suites are beautiful down to the details, and the value for money is hard to beat. Breakfast is excellent, with regional and organic food whenever possible. Five stars feel entirely deserved.

Sofi is a professional pastry chef, and her fresh leavened pastries at breakfast each morning are the kind you remember. The breakfasts are top-notch, and the staff are exceptionally kind. The place is very clean, and they were happy to accommodate our requests. You can see a feminine touch in all the little details.
