Moulin De Hard

The breakfast was divine, with bread, croissants, cheese, and Hélène's homemade jam and yogurt. We were only about nine minutes by car from the centre ville Bayeux, but the long drive past horses and sheep made it feel like we'd arrived somewhere special. A lovely garden leads up to the house, with a stream and little rapids all around it. You can see where the water wheel used to be, and a small stone bridge takes you across to another field with horses and chairs where you can sit and relax. Inside, the old mill's mechanism is part of the entry decor. The house is stunning, and Hélène has chosen and arranged everything so thoughtfully that it feels cozy and welcoming. The beds were super comfortable, the linens soft and warm, and the spacious modern bathroom had a shower and plenty of room for our things. This is hands down the best place I've ever stayed. I can't recommend this B&B more strongly.

The mill is powered by the river that runs through the property, and the quiet, serene setting makes it a wonderful place to relax. Now and then you hear horses and cows grazing nearby. It's a lovely country inn run by charming Helene, and a good base for enjoying the nearby attractions in Bayeux.

The homemade breakfast was the highlight, absolutely to die for. The place is beautiful and rustic, with a quiet feel and nice decor. My favorite stay ever. Highly recommended.

We came away with very good memories. It's a superb mill with very pleasant rooms and a top-notch breakfast. Just a few minutes from Bayeux, and not far from the landing beaches.
