The grounds were lovely and felt family friendly, though it wasn't warm enough for us to try the pool. Our room was clean, pretty, and tucked away, and we slept really well. Everyone was so nice. We stayed just one night on the way to Chateau Chambord. Breakfast was the usual French spread, but those were the best croissants I've ever had. The bathroom felt a bit dated, and there wasn't a hairdryer.

We had a really pleasant stay in the group house. It’s well equipped, with a dishwasher, fridge, oven, induction hob, a good shower, and three toilets. The interior is a little old, but it suits the place. We were there as a group and had a great time, and the host was very nice. If you want a peaceful holiday stay, this could be the spot for you.

I saw mice running through the kitchen and dining room, and the rooms were filthy. The owner is older and doesn't seem able to keep such a large house clean. To me, it felt more like a farm than a castle. Better to avoid this place if you can.

The castle owner was incredibly kind, and the room was beautiful. Even the weekend rate was quite reasonable. The gardens, charming windows, and lovely views made the whole place feel magical. The castle itself was warm, elegant, and comfortable, and we had a very joyful stay.

Château de la Rue is wonderfully peaceful, with a splendid, well-kept setting that made it easy to relax. Château de Chambord is only a few minutes away, so the location worked perfectly for a visit. We were greeted with warmth and care, and we want to thank the owner for her kindness and hospitality. Breakfast was delicious and made with high-quality products. Everything made the stay memorable, and we'd gladly come back.
