The couple running the place were very friendly and the service was excellent. It's well placed for skiing at Fontromeu, with the slopes a 10-minute drive away. We hadn't brought towels, but they gave us some, though you should bring towels and slippers. The bathroom had reliable hot water, and the private parking within the complex felt very secure. There's also a room to store skis and boots. The beds were a letdown: mattresses were small and very soft, and the pillows were hard cushions. One radiator heated the room, but it still felt a bit cold. Breakfast was the biggest disappointment. The included 'French' breakfast was all sweet things, bread, jam, cereal and milk. Other guests had asked for ham, cheese or eggs, but none were offered, and the staff didn't seem willing to try to provide them. We ended up going elsewhere for breakfast despite it being included.

The fresh bread at breakfast was excellent, and the house felt quiet and well equipped, almost like home. It's a little outside Font Romeu. Our room was small, as we knew it would be, but practical and had a great view. I'm not much of a mountain person, but this place won me over.

After a few nights bivouacking on the GR10, we found this lovely gîte to be an enchanting break. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean, breakfast was nice, and the welcome was warm. The owner even kindly drove us to the yellow train station. Highly recommended.

Cathy's cooking is delicious, and there's a self-service kitchen too. Guests can use the games, books and shared spaces. The hosts are genuinely welcoming and keen to make you happy, and everything is very clean. It's a charming, traditional mountain chalet, and spending a few days there is a real pleasure. The shuttle to the slopes even stops right outside the gîte.

The owners are very friendly, and the rooms are comfortable for a reasonable price. Breakfast is included and generous. Dinner is offered by reservation, with a set menu lovingly made by Cathy. I highly recommend this place.
