Les Châtaigniers de Florac

There’s lots to do outdoors here, from hiking and climbing to mountain biking. The mobile bakery comes by in the morning with baguettes, croissants, and other things, and you can order pizza in the evening. We were welcomed so warmly and given a pitch right beneath the mountain Sédour. It’s a cozy, quiet, clean, friendly campsite. Definitely recommend it!

We came for the sport climbing in calamers, and the location was ideal. We speak very little French and the owner speaks very little English, but he still made us feel welcome. He was often around to greet us when we came and went and make sure we were okay. The site was super clean and quiet.

We’d stay here again if we pass through. The site was peaceful and ringed by mountains, and the host was helpful both when we arrived and when we left. He showed us the last pitch available and even helped maneuver our motorhome into it. We’d been searching for a shower-equipped pitch for one night after several places were full or had closed reception. Another campsite pointed us to Camping Le Sedour. The gentleman who greeted us seemed to have finished for the day, and I think we interrupted his dinner, but he stayed cheerful and gave us great service. In the morning, a mobile van arrived with fresh bread and pastries.

The Friday night crepe/galette truck was a nice extra, and bread was delivered every morning. The pitches are shady, and the staff are friendly. It’s a quiet campsite. The facilities are a bit run down, but clean enough and working, with plenty of hot water in the showers.
