We arrived after a full day on the road to find reception unattended and key boxes on the wall. The room smelled awful, looked very dirty, and seemed not to have been cleaned in ages. The shower was broken, and the shower-room walls were smeared. The bed had what seemed like a mattress topper instead of a proper mattress, and there were two cushions in place of pillows. Outside the rooms sat around 20-30 black rubbish bags, which could attract rats. We handed the keycard back and went somewhere else. I'm no snob, but this place isn't fit for purpose and should be shut down immediately.

I booked at the last minute when the weather turned nasty during a motorcycle camping trip. In the car park, about 20, maybe 30, rough-looking people were hanging around; laundry was drying on the hotel balcony, and everyone stared at me. I turned around and left as quickly as I could because I didn't feel safe. Trip.com refused my refund, so I'm out £40 and had to book a more expensive B&B at short notice. Really, don't bother with this place.

The room was a disgusting, outdated box that stank of dirt, and the surroundings felt like beruit. We put the key back in the unmanned box and asked for a refund. I'd rather have slept in the car. If all you want is a cheap, quick place to get some sleep, don't stop here. This place isn't fit for rats.

The bed frame fell and hit my shoulder. I was lucky it didn't hit my head, which could have been much worse. The furnishings are in a dreadful state, and when I told the hotel manager what had happened, they brushed it off as normal. I won't return. The hotel should close for a thorough renovation, and I should get my money back as compensation.

No one was at reception when we arrived, so we got our card from a lockbox. In the room, the beds hadn't been made and the bathroom was dirty.
