A beautiful place with a bit of an old money vibe. The rooms felt dated but were extremely clean, and the pool was amazing. The cocktails were very good, and the staff were really helpful and welcoming. We’ll be back. We found some of the best food in France at the restaurant in front of the beach, which isn’t part of the resort. The setting was beautiful, peaceful and not overrun, and we preferred it to staying in Annecy.

Talloires-Montmin has a lot of charm because it isn’t packed with tourists, and Hotel Du Lac fits right in. It’s a classic that doesn’t try too hard to impress. The location and pool are the hotel’s best features, in my opinion. It’s a great base for exploring Annecy or taking day rides out into the Alps and nearby mountains. You can walk to good local spots like Savoyarde for food, or Gisele for coffee or a fantastic salad.

The generous breakfast runs from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., which is great if you don’t want to get up too early and like to take your time. The hotel is quaint and ideally located, and the staff are very nice. The lake is just a pleasant few minutes’ walk away.

We came for our 15 wedding anniversary, and the place was really great, especially for the reasonable price. Some places may be more luxurious, but they don’t have the same charm. The area is awesome too, with great restaurants and a nice lake beach within walking distance.
