We arrived to find the room dirty and had to complain repeatedly before they changed the pillowcases. My iPhone also went missing. I put it in Lost Mode, and a month later it showed as having been switched on at the hotel, but despite many calls, including one where they hung up on me, I never heard anything back. The teenage daughter left to man the ship was lovely, though. A bad stay.

The Terminus covers the basics well: comfortable beds, hot water, and a generous breakfast. It’s good value, and there’s a dinner deal with the Hotel du Midi. For other food options, there are better choices in town and across the Rhone in Beaucaire, by the Sete canal.
