Logis hôtel des voyageurs

We booked at the last minute after driving down from Dieppe and got a lovely welcome. The rooms were clean and the bed really comfortable, and there's a delicious buffet breakfast. The owners were extremely friendly, the location is beautiful, and dogs are welcome. We'd planned to eat in the restaurant since the menu looked delicious, but sadly we slept through the evening!

The service was faultless, and they were very accommodating to cyclists. It was a quiet spot, with a nice room and wonderful food.

We shared dishes from the Menu Gourmand at 37.90 Euros and got to try quite a few. The foie gras was delicious and perfectly cooked, though the portions felt sparse. Ris d’agneau with mushrooms was excellent, and the tartare de daurade was good, if small. I especially enjoyed the ris de veau, with its powerful flavors. The filet de beuf was quite good too, but again served frugally. Desserts were good, and the chef's wine recommendation was adequate. The chef is clearly talented: the dishes were superbly prepared, with some very original combinations of ingredients. There's a nice choice, including Menu Gourmet at 32.90 Euros and Menu Gourmand at 37.90 Euros (see photos). The dining room is elegantly furnished, the setting pleasant, and service good. We were surprised to be the only lunch guests that day. The restaurant is inside the hotel and run by a couple, with him cooking and her greeting guests. At first, she came across as bossy because she was quite assertive taking our order, but talking with her later changed that impression; she's quite nice and pleasant. It was a great meal, and with only minor adjustments it could have been outstanding. I'm sure the restaurant will sort those out. If we're in the area again, we'll definitely have lunch or dinner there.
