Hotel Campanile Mulhouse Sud - Morschwiller

Malak was the one bright spot. She was friendly, helpful, hardworking, and gave everyone fantastic service. She kept the breakfast area running smoothly and checked each day whether we needed anything. The hotel is lucky to have her. We stayed five nights, but nobody cleaned our room or changed the towels. We had to keep asking at the lobby, then collect them and carry them upstairs ourselves. There was no air conditioning, and the tiny fan barely worked, so the room felt like a sauna all day and night. The bathroom had no fresh air circulation. Opening the window meant mosquitoes and noise from the motel across the way and the freeway. There were insects in the room and in the bed, too. The parking lot was shared with another motel, and the neighbors were noisy. Service overall was really bad. This felt like a motel, not a hotel.

I still haven't received any compensation, and I regret staying there last summer just as much now as I did at the time. There were bed bugs, stains and yellowing on the pillows, other people's hair in the bathroom, and strange discolored splatters on the shower walls. The shower walls and ceiling also had mold. Outside was very noisy with no sound insulation. The room was stuffy, so keeping the window shut would have been awful too.

Handy for a quick stop, with free parking and good service. The bathroom was clean and fine, but the room was small and motel-like, and could use an update. I also missed having a fridge.

We'd stayed before, but I won't be back unless they install air conditioning. On our return, it was 35 degrees and our top-floor room was unbearable without it. We took eight showers during the night just to cool down. The sink was blocked or draining badly, too. On our first visit this year, the receptionist came into our room at midnight while we were in bed and undressed. One star is too generous. Most other Campaniles have air conditioning, and this should be fitted in southern France.
