The original review was five stars: a clean, pleasant hotel in a former religious building, well placed for exploring the Roya Valley. The rooms were simple, with good beds. Many of the service staff are young people with mild disabilities, and they were outstanding at making us feel valued. Prices at the restaurant were on the low side, as was the quality of the set lunch and dinner menus. Wi-Fi was often slow or unreliable, though I wondered who needs Wi-Fi on vacation. Now two stars: the bill showed the wrong room rate and included meals and drinks we hadn’t had. The receptionist insisted I wait at reception while she corrected it because she was busy finishing up before lunch. She wasn’t disabled, just uninterested in customer service. It took half an hour, and we missed our train. The next one wasn’t for another three hours.

We had a great weekend base for exploring the mountains north of Nice. There are lots of places to hike or go VTT nearby, and the food was just right for a small hotel like this. The service was really good, and we even got to know some of the staff. The hotel is run by an organisation that helps people with disabilities. Thank you Thoma for a lovely stay!

We first came for lunch and had the three-course menu for 23 euros. It was fresh, full of flavour, and fantastic, and I’m a chef. The wait staff were incredible: right on top of everything, with warm smiles and a real willingness to go above and beyond. We came back the next day for dinner, and it was just as good. The whole team is ADORABLE. Rose left buy me. Thanks from Craig, my two friends, and our little dog. We’ll be back.

Excellent service at a great hotel, especially well set up for groups. Our party of 15 stayed here during a four-day walking trip in the Vallée des Merveilles.
