The bar has a nice local feel since people from the area come in too, and the hotel restaurant had excellent food and wine. We found the staff kind and helpful throughout, and the hotel is well placed for exploring the Vosges, with Gerardmer and its lake nearby. A good base, especially if you're touring by motorbike, since there's a locked garage.

The Mosellette river runs nearby, with beautiful hills behind it. I stayed here for nearly a month in 2005 and remember the location fondly. The staff were friendly, although the management has changed since then. The food was excellent, and there's a pleasant bar and good parking.

The restaurant staff were warm and friendly, and the raclette was much better than we'd expected. I'd happily go back.
