Auberge de l'Abbaye

The village is small, but its church is amazing and worth a visit. We stayed as a family in three separate rooms, and found the beds perfectly comfortable. The rooms were cleaned and restocked with bottled water, which was a nice touch. We liked relaxing in the outdoor seating area on summer evenings. The restaurant is on the moderately expensive side, but the food was amazing, so it's worth it for a treat.

We'd love to come back. It's a great base for exploring the Perche region, and the hotel will hire or lend you electric bicycles. The welcome was exceptionally friendly, and the restaurant is very good, with a nice garden where you can have drinks beforehand. The building dates from the revolution period and has seven bedrooms. The village isn't the prettiest, but there are some fine historic buildings, especially the 900-year-old abbey. It's the remaining vestige of what was a very large abbey before the revolution.

The food was outstanding, tasty and light yet still satisfying, and we had a very nice waiter. The hotel is in a quiet location, with clean, spacious rooms. Behind the building there's a lovely garden displaying works of art, with a view of the nearby church. Great place, awesome food, spot-on on every level.

A very peaceful place, and the service was great when I went for dinner with friends. I had the chicken lollipop starter, while my friend chose the luscious fondant foie gras. For the main course, I had a great piece of beef with a succulent sauce, then a very good apricot sablé for dessert. The young cooking chef was very talented!
