The chalet crew were very good and quick to respond. The pool, sauna, hot tub, well-equipped kitchen, billiard table, cinema room, and games were all positives. But a number of things made the stay frustrating. The ceilings are very low, so anyone 5.7 and taller will have to duck or keep hitting their head. The valley view was disappointing because it looked onto a garage, despite the excellent location. The kids’ dormitory upstairs was extremely hot, with no window to open, and at least one bedroom we used also had no opening windows. The layout was awkward, with the bar directly opposite the kitchen. The Wi-Fi sound system in each room looked great on paper, but it was unstable and so awkward to use that it ended up waking all the kids. I also punctured a tire on the private access road. After we’d spent 10,000EUR for a week with friends, it was disappointing that the landlord wouldn’t share any of the 280 EUR bill.

We were wowed by Chalet Colombine during a weekend stay for a friend’s birthday. It’s a stylish, contemporary place with a really high-end finish, and every room is beautiful. There are facilities everywhere you look. Such a stunning hidden gem, and I’d say it’s worth a stay.

It felt like an average villa to us. The cleaning was disappointing: despite the high fee, we had to clean the place and strip the beds before leaving. It also wasn’t especially clean when we arrived.

The villa itself is amazing and the location is beautiful, but the management needs work. We ran into some problems during our stay and tried several times to reach the manager. She didn’t answer or call back to sort things out. That was really disappointing, especially given what we paid.

Such an amazing place, and the chalet manager was just as good. They couldn’t do enough for us. Fab, fab, fab.
