Breakfast was a bright spot: the woman serving was friendly, pleasant, and really professional. The room itself was clean, with a big comfortable bed, but despite being called “superior” it felt plain and characterless. The shower barely had any pressure, and the bathroom and toilet doors bumped into each other. With the low headroom on the second floor, that made things awkward. The tea and coffee maker had to sit on the floor to reach a socket, and we needed our own tea bags and coffee pods. There was no one at reception when we arrived. When a woman eventually came, she handed over the keys abruptly and was unhelpful and unfriendly. I was also given a form to fill out about breakfast choices. No smile or welcome. My husband has mobility difficulties, and the stairs to the second floor were hard for him, especially since nobody offered help with our luggage.

Quiet and peaceful, with parking right on site. The room was spotless and the bed was comfortable. It’s a sweet little country hotel, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I’d happily stay here again.
