Hôtel Le Refuge

We were told at check-in that you'd try to resell the room because my wife was ill, though we still wanted to stay. Two days later we found out that no, that hadn't happened, and instead you asked when we'd be leaving. The reception service made what could have been a much better experience absolutely terrible. In almost 40 years of staying in hotels, this was the worst experience. Never again.

The view from our balcony was lovely in the mornings and evenings, and the showers were fantastic, hot with plenty of pressure. The rooms are a little small, but the hotel sits right among the lifts, which is why we booked and made the stay much more pleasant. Breakfast was enjoyable, with lots of choices. Ski and snowboard lockers are available in the lobby, and the staff were polite and helpful throughout. By our third day, we were glad to have the spa for tired legs, with its hot tub Jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room. I'd have no hesitation recommending the hotel to a friend.

I stayed for one night in the last week of July, then had to leave before breakfast for a 6:30 start. The hotel was better than I expected for the price, with a standard well above what I thought I'd get. The room was a good size, if not huge, and had excellent wifi, a comfortable bed, lovely towels and bathrobes, and a good bath. The shared areas looked nice too. I'd stay again.

The staff were very helpful, the location was excellent, and breakfast was decent. We had an enjoyable ski vacation, though the sleeping arrangements were odd: our larger room for five had only two beds, while the smaller one had three. We also had just one toilet and one bathroom, but there was another shared one of each down the hall that hardly anyone used.
