The water's colours are lovely to take in, and the old site has been kept in very good condition. There's no fee or formal setup, just room to wander around and enjoy it. Getting around in a wheelchair looks difficult, perhaps impossible, which is a real shame. Still, if you can manage the walk, it's well worth seeing. It's a little gem in town, with an interesting story.

The room itself was clean and nicely equipped, but the surroundings and arrival were so different from what we expected that we decided not to stay. We were surprised to find the old farmhouse among houses in town. The listing mentioned free parking without saying it was a public parking space, and the glass street door had a note directing guests around the side. We eventually worked out that the entrance was through a gate. With rubbish scattered nearby, we didn't feel safe leaving our loaded car there. The place has new owners, so perhaps things will improve, but we felt foolish for relying on the reviews.

We only stayed one night, but it was a great visit. The room was spacious, warm, and well equipped, with its own bathroom. The hosts were kind and patient with my partner and me, since we both speak English. The location beside the spring was lovely.

Such a welcoming little place, and the hosts are amazing. The owners were incredibly kind and generous, with a warmth that's hard to put into words. If you're coming to Tonnerre, I'd recommend staying here. I'd happily come back again and again.
