Château des Tesnières

After a week cycling in Loire Valley, we drove to the chateau on a friend’s recommendation from South Africa. Chantel has done a great job turning it into luxurious accommodation. She and her staff also served a Michelin quality meal, better than a 3 star restaurant I’ve visited twice in Slovenia. We’d drive all the way back from Ljubljana Slovenia to enjoy the accommodation, food, and service again. Thank you, Chantel.

Now under the ownership of renowned South African Chef Chantel Dartnall, the Chateau gave me a dining experience I can hardly recommend enough. I chose the Grande Degustation menu with the connoisseur’s wine pairing. It was inventive and full of surprises, with pure ingredients and flavours working in harmony. I’ve eaten in fine restaurants around the world, and this really stood out.

Restaurant Mosaic was unforgettable: the staff were superb, the menu thoughtful, and every bite delicious, with presentation that engaged all the senses. The rooms are exquisite too, mixing exceptional Asian pieces, hand-painted details, and French history into something magical. Highly recommended, and not to be missed.

Chantel’s expertise makes for spectacular food experiences, backed by an exceptional wine cellar and a meticulously refurbished castle. The team’s service is warm and friendly, and everyone knows their profession well. For a mix of princess fairytale atmosphere, world class cuisine, and sublime wines, this is the place. It’s sure to leave a lasting impression on anyone interested in the finer arts of gastronomy.
