The room was spacious, though the bathroom and toilet felt a bit cramped, and the bed gave me four good nights of sleep. I liked the little extras: complimentary minibar drinks on arrival, though they weren't restocked, and two Nespresso pods each day. A couple more pods daily would have been nice. I didn't try the pool or fitness centre, so I can't comment on them, though I had read that the pool is small. Breakfast at €14 seemed too expensive, so I preferred eating out. Le Parisian cafe is at the bottom of the street, with more choice for less. I'd absolutely stay here again.

The location was a great surprise, just a nine-minute walk from the town centre. We booked at the last minute and really liked the clean, pleasant rooms, warm pool, helpful and friendly staff, and good breakfast. The pool doesn't get much sun. Parking on site is limited, though you can reserve a spot for €14 a day. The nearby car park charges €20 daily.

The staff were lovely, but the room really needs updating. The air conditioning didn't work, the bed was clearly worn out, and the walls had dirty stains. There were huge holes in the curtains, and the bathroom was dirty, with orange and brown spots across the ceiling. It seems like this may once have been a nice hotel.

I've stayed at Hotel Mermoz several times over the years, sometimes for a week or longer, though I haven't been back since 2013. It's a quiet, intimate place with very personal service, close to the Joan of Arc statue and the city centre. They did a major renovation in 2010-2011, which improved things and raised its rating from three stars to four. I still preferred the older atmosphere, and its lower prices. I recommend it in every way.

I was in Toulouse for a week on business, and found the hotel a good deal for the price. Breakfast was a traditional spread of French pastries and fruit, and everyone spoke English well. I'd happily stay again.
