Mercure Toulouse Centre Compans Hotel

I’ve stayed in lots of hotels through my career, and this one was comfortable, with very kind and helpful staff. Nothing else really stood out, though, so it was a positive “meh.” At check-in, the receptionist said the breakfast buffet had been voted best in France, which gave me high expectations for the first morning. It was good, but hardly special. Then again, France isn’t known for its breakfast foods. A decent hotel, just nothing remarkable.

The hotel has a pool table, a cozy seating area in the front lobby, and a bar. Breakfast was great too, with plenty of food and drink options, including a crepe station. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the location is fantastic, close to the university and beside the Japanese Garden. We really enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. We also used the Welcome Pickups service offered by the hotel, and it worked out nicely with very little stress. We’ll definitely stay here next time we visit Toulouse.

The rooms are a bit dated, but roomy and comfortable, and the staff are friendly and courteous. The Mercure is ideally placed for visiting the city centre. There’s also a car park with direct access to the hotel, which is great. We’d stay here again.

The room facilities are dated and need refurbishment. More concerning, staff checked us into a room that was already occupied, with someone else’s boots, coats, and luggage inside. They moved us to another room, but we still didn’t feel safe because we worried somebody else might enter our room too.
