Mercure Toulouse Centre Saint-Georges Hotel

The furnishings in the room are old, and dealing with the staff was unpleasant. There wasn’t a shared space where we could sit and eat our own food together. Even though we’d ordered wine in the lobby, staff rudely told us to take our food back to our room, and there was no sign saying outside food wasn’t allowed. At checkout, I had three big suitcases and no porter service. The lobby sent a luggage trolley up in the lift for me to push the bags down myself.

The hotel is very centrally located for restaurants and shopping. I stayed four nights in September as part of a very large group booking. My room was basic but very clean, with paper cups, no coffee machine and only a few hangers in the closet. Breakfast was good and well organised, even at 6 am most days. Victor Hugo went out of his way to make it a good experience and was very accommodating with our small request. Check-out was quick and efficient.

We were very happy with this hotel during our Gate 1 group stay. The staff were our favourite part: everyone was so nice and made us feel at home. Laurence, whom we met at breakfast on the first day, even wrote us a note by hand, and it became one of our favourite keepsakes from the trip. The room was spacious and well equipped, the bed was very comfortable, the breakfast was excellent, and the location was great.

The breakfast had such a huge selection that you won’t need lunch. The central location is great, and someone at the front desk showed us some lovely local places to visit. The pool and bar area were nice too. Staff in reception, housekeeping, the bar and breakfast were all friendly, efficient and brilliant. We’d definitely come back if we’re in Toulouse. Well done to the whole hotel team!
