Hotel Bal

We had a hot shower with plenty of room, and the whole site and its facilities were immaculate. We were there just one night in our campervan with our dog, stopping on the way back to Calais. The bar and restaurant were lovely. We had dinner with wine and a cocktail, and we’d definitely come back.

The restaurant was the highlight for us, with a great menu, lovely little starters and amazing main courses. It’s a great little hotel, though the rooms are basic, which suited us. Feeryland theme park is opposite, so it could be a good spot for families. We’d recommend the hotel and I’d go back. The one snag was that they ran out of Heineken, though that might have been because there were 11 of us and we drink a lot. 🤣🤪

We found plenty of parking, and the hotel sits away from the main road, which gave us peace of mind with our motorcycles. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was great. There’s also a campsite attached with lots for children to do, plus a pool table in the bar. A really nice hotel and fine restaurant, and a great place for our last night in France, just 20 minutes from the Euro Tunnel.

The breakfast selection wasn’t huge, but what we had was fresh and filling. The baguettes were a 10 out of 10. We also had a lovely dinner and dessert with a bottle of wine, and found it good value. This wasn’t our first stay, as it’s a perfect overnight stop before catching the train back to the UK from Calais. The room was small but very comfortable, with a lovely bed and an adequate bathroom. I’d only suggest updating the decor a little.
